Consumer Guide’s 2022 Best Buy Awards

Consumer Guide was founded in 1967 and is one of the foremost reviewers of cars, trucks, and SUVs. Every year, they publish their Best Buy Awards, honoring the very best vehicles that consumers can buy based on criteria such as starting price, performance, and features. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is one of six Hyundai vehicles given the prestigious 2022 Best Buy Award, with publisher Tom Appel praising it as an “ambitiously-designed vehicle that blends avant-garde styling and everyday practicality.” The other 2022 Hyundai vehicles given this award are the Palisade, Santa Fe, Kona, Venue, and Accent.

Texas Auto Roundup Awards

Since 2003, the Texas Auto Writers Association has put on its annual Texas Auto Roundup Awards for prestigious vehicles in a wide variety of categories. Hyundai was lucky enough to take home six honors at the 2022 awards, including three awards for the 2022 IONIQ 5: CUV of Texas, Electric Vehicle of Texas, and Highest Personal Appeal. Its vehicle-to-load adapter also won the award for Best New Feature! The remaining two awards—Performance Sedan of Texas and Best Value—were awarded to the excellent 2022 Hyundai Elantra N.

World Car Awards

This past April, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 was nominated for three awards at the New York International Auto Show—and took home all three! The IONIQ 5 received the awards for World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year. It emerged with top honors from a pool of 27 electric vehicles, and was judged by a panel of 102 automotive journalists from around the world.

International Forum Design Awards

As the name suggests, the International Forum (iF) Design Awards are put every year to honor exceptional design in categories such as automobiles, furniture, computers, leisure, and lighting. Hyundai was lucky enough to take home nine awards at this year’s ceremony, including Product, Professional Concept (for the IONIQ 5), Interior Architecture, and Communication. This is the eighth year in a row that Hyundai has been honored by the International Forum!
