Serving Elk Grove, CA

The two-row Hyundai IONIQ 5 has rightfully gained attention since its launch in 2022. Now, it is joined by the all-new, three-row IONIQ 9. While they share a similar name, the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 have numerous exciting differences. After exploring these options, which one will stand out as the better option for you?

Performance

The 2026 IONIQ 5 is available with two powertrains. The first is a single-motor, 168-horsepower unit with rear-wheel drive. Its battery range is up to 318 miles. The dual-motor, 320-horsepower system has all-wheel drive and a 245-mile range.

The IONIQ 9 also has dual-motor and single-motor options. The single-motor system produces 215 horsepower. The first dual-motor system offers 303 horsepower, while a more powerful alternative gives you 422 horsepower. The IONIQ 9's range is up to 335 miles.

Appearance

The IONIQ 5's design is decidedly contemporary and sporty. It has a tapered roof with an arched hood. Both the hood and sides are dramatically accented with pinstripe definition. Dark molding swells over the bottom of the side panels and covers most of the nose. The molding supports the double-square LED headlights.

The IONIQ 9's design is characterized by a gently raked roof and a strongly angled front windshield, adding an aerodynamic touch. The hood and sides are smoothly styled, with the exception of the well-defined fenders. A thin band of dark molding runs across the sides below the beltline. On the front end, the dark bumper wraps across the nose and is topped by a wide LED headlight band.

Features

Depending on the trim selected, the IONIQ 5 is available with a Bose sound system, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, heated seats in both rows, a navigation system, wireless smartphone app connections, a household power outlet, synthetic leather upholstery, a surround-view camera, and numerous other features.

The IONIQ 9 is available with many of the same features. It is also equipped with an automated parking system, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, a digital key, memory settings for the driver's seat, a power-folding third row, second-row captain's chairs, and several additional features.
